Detections and Releases
Definitions for columns in materialized tables presented via GeoServer, GoogleEarth, CSV files, and spreadsheets. These are products created directly from OTN database tables.

mv_anm_released | A record for each animal tagged by project owner, along with animal release and morphology information. | ||||||
mv_anm_detections | A 'release' record for each animal along with all detections of tagger's animals no matter where they occurred. Release records will be present even if there have been no detections. | ||||||
mv_anm_compressed | A compression of mv_anm_detections. There will be one record representing both arrival and departure at at station/receiver . Time of arrival, time of departure, and detection counts along with average of any sensor calibrations. Useful for visualizing sets with large detection counts. | ||||||
mv_line_detections | All detections for a deployment line stripped of all identifying animal information. Only projects which deployed receivers will have this table. Useful for performance analysis of Sentinel tags. Not to be used for tracking animals. | ||||||

catalognumber | Unique identifier for an animal. When tracking an animal this is the column which should be used to group all the detections for one animal. receiver | The model and serial number of the receiver as it appears on the detection record exported from Vemco VUE database. For satellite detections the word 'Satellite' will be in this column. If 'lost/found' is concatenated to the receiver name this means the detection is from a receiver which was lost and found, frequently far from the deployment area. tagname | The tagname as it appears on the detection record exported from Vemco VUE database. For satellite transmitters this could be the PPT number as it appears on the manufacturers processed detection file, or the catalognumber for the specific satellite transmitter release metadata. For sensor tags which are associated with a pinger id, this will the the tagname for the pinger. CAUTION: as tags and other transmitters are reused this column cannot be used to group detections for an animal. Grouping by this column could combine detections for more than one animal. Some animals have more than one type of transmitter so using this column for grouping will miss detections from a second source. These columns appear only in table MV_ANM_COMPRESSED. This table presents fewer records to make it easier to visualize an animal track. There is one record representing the
time an animal arrives at a station or receiver and when it leaves. There is a sequence number so that the records can be properly ordered.
